FAI Girls 5-A-Side County Championsāš½šŸ†

With three tough games against Scartaglin, Kenmare and Milltown, the Faha girls knew they were in for a serious challenge.  Under bright sunshine, they rose to the occasion and shone even brighter on the pitch!

One win and two draws, with several goals from Lauren and Mollie, secured their place back against Scartaglin in a gripping final.  It was an incredibly tight contest, with both sides giving everything and the game ultimately went to extra time.  Still level after the final whistle, the match would be decided by penalties.

The tension was palpable, with every player and supporter holding their breath.

Lauren stepped up first and calmly slotted the ball into the bottom left corner.  Scartaglin responded with a goal of their own.  Next up was Mollie, who struck confidently, sending the ball into the top middle, just beyond the keeper's reach.  Caoimhe then took her place in goals and produced a brilliant diving save to deny Scartaglin and swing the momentum in Faha's favour.

All eyes then turned to Lily Kate.  With everything on the line and the pressure at it's peak, she showed incredible composure.  Taking a steady run-up, she struck the ball cleanly and with confidence, driving it low into the bottom corner.  The net rippled, and in that instant, the celebrations began, she had sealed the victory in style and secured Faha's place in the Munster finals!

There were outstanding performances all over the pitch.  Captain Mollie led from the front with a superb display, while Lauren battled tirelessly in midfield.  Emma was relentless in the middle, chasing every ball and putting in crucial tackles throughout.  In defence, Lily O'Sullivan was immense, working tirelessly, clearing everything that came her way and proving a constant source of strength and brilliance.  She was deservedly chosen by the coaches as Player Of The Tournament for her exceptional performances.  Caoimhe also pulled off a number of crucial saves including her vital stop in the penalty shootout.  Lily and Aoife made a big impact, bringing fresh energy and digging deep when it mattered most.

A brilliant team performance and a well deserved county title, onward to Munster!
